To enable the completion of the Weston to Clevedon cycle way it was critical for North Somerset Council (NSC) to deliver a diversionary route to Yeo Bank Farm, suitable to support its intense dairy farming operations. Cavish were appointed as main contractor for the scheme following a successful open tender process, inc. a substantial quality assessment. The works involved:

• Construction of an adoptable highway junction.
• Culverting of three water courses under the control of the Somerset Levels Drainage Board, installing large diameter pipework and head walls whilst managing the watercourses in an over pumping scenario.
• Construction of the track way was undertaken using our in-house GPS controlled plant allowing earthworks and stoning up to be safely controlled with minimal risk to banksman.

Cavish managed record rain fall conditions in early 2024 to complete the scheme to a NSC budget deadline, ensuring the council were able to maintain funding.
